Our Mission
Petfel exists to help pet owners make informed, confident decisions about the animals they love. We publish guides, breed profiles, health advice, product reviews, and training content for dogs, cats, and small animals. Our editorial mission is to be the most trustworthy pet resource on the internet — measured not by traffic, but by the quality of guidance we provide and the trust we earn from our readers and the veterinary community.
Editorial Independence
Our editorial team operates independently from our business and revenue teams. Advertisers, sponsors, and commercial partners have no influence over the content we create, the topics we cover, or the conclusions we reach. Editorial decisions — including which topics to cover, which experts to consult, and which products to recommend — are made solely by our editorial team based on journalistic merit and reader value.
Accuracy & Fact-Checking
All factual claims are verified before publication against credible, up-to-date sources, including peer-reviewed veterinary and scientific journals, licensed veterinarians, recognized animal welfare organizations, and official regulatory guidance (AVMA, WSAVA, etc.). We do not publish health claims that are not supported by credible evidence. When research is limited or inconclusive, we say so explicitly.
Expert Review
All health, nutrition, and behavioral content is reviewed by a qualified professional before publication. Our reviewers include licensed veterinarians (DVMs), board-certified veterinary nutritionists, and certified applied animal behaviorists. Every reviewed article displays the reviewer’s name, credentials, and review date.
Advertising & Sponsorships
Petfel is supported in part by advertising. Sponsored content is clearly labeled as “Sponsored” or “Paid Partnership.” Sponsors cannot require favorable coverage or restrict our ability to criticize their products in editorial contexts. We do not accept advertising from brands we consider harmful to pets.

Some links on Petfel are affiliate links — we may earn a commission if you purchase through them at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships do not influence our recommendations. Products are selected based solely on research, testing, and expert input. Pages containing affiliate links include a clear disclosure at the top.
Corrections Policy
When a material error is identified, the article is corrected and an editor’s note is added explaining what changed and when. We do not silently delete or rewrite articles without disclosure. To report an inaccuracy, email corrections@petfel.com with the article URL and your concern.
AI & Technology Use
Petfel uses AI tools to assist with research and drafting in limited contexts. AI-generated text is never published without substantive human review and editing. All factual claims in AI-assisted content are independently verified, and health content is always reviewed by a qualified expert regardless of how the draft was produced.
